Section 1. The requirements for Society membership and annual dues shall be as defined in the Society By-Laws. Section 2. Any member of the Society having voting affiliation with another Section shall be eligible to become affiliated with this Section. Such affiliation shall carry no voting power in matters coming before the Section. Any dues established by the Section for such affiliation shall be invoiced by and to paid to the Section. Article II, Membership election procedures
Section 1. Membership in the Section shall be limited to members of the Society. Section 2. Application for Society membership shall be made by filling out the Society Application for Membership form and submitting it, properly endorsed, and with the correct dues to the Society. Section 3. At the time of application for Society membership, the applicant shall have the opportunity to specify which Section he wishes to belong to. All Society members expressing a desire to belong to this Section shall be accepted into membership in the Section, provided they are not members of another Section. Section 4. A person belonging to another Section who wishes to join this Section may either apply for affiliate membership, by filling out the Application for Affiliate Membership, and submitting the same to the Section along with any affiliation fee as set forth in this By-Law, or requesting a transfer from his present Section to this Section. Article III, Termination of membership
Section 1. A member may resign from the Society and Section at any time by signifying his intention in writing to the National Executive Director. Section 2. Any member whose dues are unpaid three months after the due date shall be considered inactive. An inactive member shall have no vote in the Section matters. An inactive member shall be restored to active status immediately upon payment of his dues. Article IV, Government
Section 1. The general policies of the Section shall be under the control of the members through their power to elect officers and to amend the Constitution. Section 2. Each member is entitled to one vote. Student and affiliate members have no vote. Section 3. The operating policies of the Section shall be vested in the Executive Board. Section 4. The operating control of the Section shall be vested in the Elected Officers. Section 5. Roberts Rules of Order, Revised, where applicable, shall determine the conduct of business in all meetings of the Section, Executive Board and committees except when inconsistent with the Constitution and By-Laws of the Section or the Society. Section 1. The elected officers of the Section
and their term of office shall be as follows:
Section 2. The Executive Board of the Section shall consist of the following: The Elected Officers, The latest living Past President, and The Chairmen of all Standing Committees. Article VI, Standing committees
Section 1. The President with the advice from the Vice-President shall designate chairmen of the Standing Committees and such other committees as are required to assist him in the conduct of the affairs of the Section. Section 2. The President shall be an ex-officio member of all committees. Article VII, Meetings
Section 1. A minimum of six meetings per year shall be held during the months of September through June. The President with the assistance of his committees, shall provide suitable programs and meeting places for the meetings. Section 2. The Secretary shall see that the meeting notices are sent to all members so as to be received not less than five days in advance of such meetings. Section 3. The general meetings of the Section shall be open to the public and all persons are welcome to come. Section 4. The Executive Board meetings shall be open to all members of the Section. Section members wishing to address the Executive Board shall be allowed to do so upon request. Section 5. The annual meeting of the Section shall be held at the time and place designated by the Section Executive Board. This meeting is normally the last meeting of the fiscal year. Section 6. Regular meetings of the Executive Board shall be held at such time and place as designated by the Section President. Section 7. Special meetings of the Executive Board shall be held any time at the call of the President. Three members of the Executive Board may call a meeting upon the failure or refusal of the President to act. Article VIII, Amendment of constitution
Section 1. All proposed amendments to the Constitution shall be submitted in writing. Amendments shall be proposed either by resolution of the Executive Board or by a petition addressed to the Secretary of the Section and signed by at least five members. Section 2. All proposed amendments shall be offered for discussion not later than the next regular meeting following their receipt by the Secretary. Section 3. Amendments shall be adopted upon a 2/3 vote of the members present at the next regular meeting following the meeting of proposal, provided that the total vote is not less than 1/3 of the total number of members in good standing.
